Our teachers are amazing: professional, dedicated, creative, fun-loving, and kind. In the short time I have been a part of the St. Mark’s family, I have been more than impressed with the quality of instruction and the loving care provided by our faculty and staff. Children are excited to come to school every day. As important, our teachers make children feel safe to experiment, to trust their abilities, and to take intellectual risks; they are not afraid to make a mistake.
St. Mark’s is a safe place. Starting with the design of our campus, keeping our students safe is our primary concern at St. Mark’s. We have well designed security measures and protocols that are regularly reviewed and adjusted. Our full-time security team is constantly patrolling the campus. We are a community committed to being vigilant and wise, so our students and their families feel safe.
St. Mark’s school is poised to take an important step forward as the search is underway to call the next sitting Head of School. Parish leaders, Vestry, and Advisory Board are proactively leading the search with the goal of finding a strong educator who is a good fit for the St. Mark’s culture. As Interim Head, I will support the search as I strive to celebrate all of the wonderful traditions of St. Mark’s Episcopal School. Having served for 24 years as Headmaster of St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School in Tampa, I am well acquainted with the culture of an elementary Episcopal Parish school. Serving as Interim Head feels like coming home.
