Welcome to the St. Mark’s Episcopal School website and thank you for your interest in our exceptional school!

For four decades, families have identified with our mission, “to provide an academically enriched program in a nurturing Christian environment.” Beginning in 1979 with the ten kindergarten children who learned, prayed, and played at St. Mark’s to the more than 400 PK2 – eighth grade students who will enroll this year, St. Mark’s shapes sound foundations for life, foundations that our students carry with them into a world in need.

Deb Strainge, Head of SchoolAs you explore the website, you will get a sense of the distinctive aspects of the St. Mark’s experience. You will learn about our award-winning academic program, the comprehensive and inclusive nature of our Episcopal identity, and the warmth and unwavering dedication of the people of this community.

Our core academic subjects are enriched by programs in world language, a variety of athletic offerings, service learning opportunities, courses in the fine and performing arts, and an authentic integration of technology. A deep commitment to helping others, both in and out of school, and serving the wider community provides the cornerstone for character development. The teachers at St. Mark’s Episcopal School are outstanding. They know children, they know their subjects, and they present an exceptional program to our motivated and curious students.

People have asked, “Why should I consider an Episcopal school?” To which my response is, “Why would you choose anything else?” Episcopal schools hold an important place in today’s world as we welcome all faiths and beliefs in an inclusive community. It is a tradition that is open to new discoveries and reasoned pursuits of truth, requiring us to think but not telling us what to think. We are taught to serve and live beyond ourselves. Ultimately, Episcopal schools look for the values that unite us as we celebrate the richness of diverse views.

Our website can only offer a glimpse of what makes St. Mark’s Episcopal School so exceptional. Come visit us; you will be warmly welcomed and impressed with what you learn.

Warm regards,
Deb Strainge, M.Ed.
